Don't Ask Me Why Excerpt: One Big Moving Shape

          So.

Let’s say you saw a car driving down the road—driving the car is a black woman with dreads, in the passenger seat is an Indian Sikh bro wearing a baby blue turban and ripping on a cigarette. In the back is Josie G. with her white-girl dreads and colorful necklaces and an aging, shirtless Australian Aboriginal guy with white-caked face paint and a snow-white beard wailing on a didgeridoo that sticks out of the sunroof. And, scrunched between those two in the middle is Charlie Rider wearing cream colored khakis, a backwards snapback, and a lime green buttondown.

What do you think about that? You assume it must be Halloween or some shit--all of those people in one car like that. That scene could not be possible. That's not what I've come to expect from the world. Unless, of course, you see that car and you happen to be a 3-year-old kid holding a big swirly lollipop and you have no idea how the world works.

Then you just see a bunch of small sitting shapes in a big moving shape.
